We offer a continued professional development programme for newly qualified teachers (NQTs), designed and facilitated by leading teachers.


In order to welcome NQTs into the teaching profession, we will be holding our annual event on 21st September 2018. This consists of a morning led by Gerry Foster-Wilson, Executive Head Teacher and Tom Banham, Head Teacher, followed by a variety of workshops throughout the day.

If you’re a newly qualified teacher, our development programme is designed to give you the very best start to your teaching career. The programme:

  • provides a blended learning opportunity for NQTs, including face-to-face sessions, access to online learning environment, visits to other schools, reflection, mentoring and in-school development opportunities
  • offers a range of practical ideas and tools to use in the classroom
  • offers a range of innovative and exciting interactive learning sessions
  • creates the opportunity for networking and peer support

Mentor induction programme

If you provide mentoring to one of our NQTs, we also run a mentor induction programme for you, to make sure you understand your role and responsibilities in the induction process. This is a one day programme covering:

  • government advice, expectations and guidance
  • appropriate body requirements
  • what the appropriate body requires
  • the support NQTs requires
  • how to recognise progress and causes for concern
  • observation and feedback requirements
  • necessary paperwork
