This 5 day programme will unpick the aims of the maths curriculum and explore a range of strategies to ensure that children develop a deep and sustainable understanding of mathematical concepts and procedures.
Time will be spent introducing the 5 big ideas of fluency, variation theory, coherence, mathematical thinking and structure and representations.
The sessions provide the chance to reflect on research, share best practice and to try new ideas.
All resources and activities will be made available so that subject leaders are equipped to cascade back to colleagues in school.
This course is designed for the maths lead and another teacher to attend together.
