The workshop will encourage leaders to consider and debate haw they have designed their school curriculum in order to support being able to answer the following questions:
How have you designed your curriculum? What are your key curriculum drivers? Why? Does your curriculum promote your schools culture and aims? How can you evidence this? How does your curriculum promote SMSC and British values? Have you designed your curriculum to ensure deep learning, engagement, breadth and balance? How would you evaluate the effectiveness of your curriculum in terms of personal and academic development? Is your curriculum having a impact and how do you know? What evidence can you provide that it is improving outcomes for pupils?
This course will support you for the ‘big conversation’ about your curriculum and ensure that the school leaders are clear about how and why the curriculum is designed the way it is and more importantly the impact it has on pupil outcomes.
The facilitator NIcola Shipman is an Inspector, National Leader of Education and CEO of Steel City Schools Partnership. Nicola has a wealth of experience providing school to school support as a National Leader of Education.
