Following the evaluation of this year’s moderation cycle, the Barnsley Schools’
Alliance is offering a series of professional development days for UKS2 teachers.
The aim is to support teachers in planning writing opportunities that allow pupils
to meet the ‘pupil can’ statements from the teacher assessment framework for
greater depth by the end of Year 6. Through the programme, your staff will be
supported to plan a unit work from a central text and then reflect on the
successful implementation of this plan with teachers from other schools. All the
teachers on the programme will have the opportunity to share their pupils’ work
and practice articulating how they meet the standards outline in the TAF. This will
help to build confidence and knowledge of the TAF in readiness for any internal
or external moderation activities.
